If you join our team, they will.ResponsibilitiesWe are actively hiring for an Endoscopy Technician at Advanced Surgery Center of Long Island, Port Jefferson Station 11776.Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA and Advanced Surgery Center of Long IslandFunction as an assistive person during endoscopy procedures by: Assisting in maintaining patient safetyDemonstrating safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.Handling specimens according to facility policy and procedures.Adhering to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipmentPerforming interventions to protect the patient from infectionProtecting the patient's rights, dignity, and privacyProviding age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.Complying with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policyAssembling supplies and equipment required for the procedure.Preparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.Providing instruments and supplies to the endoscopist during the procedure.Provide hand-off reports to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient's condition and response to care.Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories in working order. Troubleshoots and recognizes malfunctionsClean and prepare equipment and instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas.Ensure scopes are handled safely and are prepared for use in accordance with policies and procedures and manufacturers' instructions for useDemonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the teamAssist with post procedure cleaning of the procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients.Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.Maintain required competencies.Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and daily safety huddles.Helping to unpack deliveries and stock as neededParticipate in survey preparationPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Graduate or equivalent.Prior Experience as a GI Tech preferred.Current BCLS certification or successful completion of BCLS Course with onboarding.USD $24.00/Hr. USD $29.00/Hr.
