Job Summary

Endoscopy Tech, Days

Full time; 6:30am-3pm (Monday-Friday)

Call required

BLS (American Heart Assoc) required

Completion of an Endoscopy Technician Certification Program or one year of equivalent healthcare experience required

2+years of Endo experience preferred

Must be able to assist physician in procedure room, clean scopes, transport patients and be an extra set up hands on unit. ALL staff (RNs included) are expected to clean/ transport and help unit.

This position is located at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.

Position responsible for assisting the physician in the operating room/endoscopy services under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Completion of an Endoscopy Technician Certification Program or one year of equivalent healthcare experience required.

Licenses/Certifications:

(None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Principal Accountabilities

Assists physicians with endoscopy procedures as assigned by a registered nurse delivering appropriate care to clients according to the Endoscopy Skills Inventory.

Obtains and prepares supplies and instruments according to the individual physician preferences; restocks supplies, and maintains the endoscopy rooms.

Assists in the scheduling and rescheduling of patients.

Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
