Job description
Endoscopy TechnicianThe Endoscopy Technician is responsible for providing technical and clinical support to physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures. This position ensures patient safety by preparing procedure rooms, maintaining and reprocessing endoscopic equipment, assisting during procedures, and adhering to infection prevention standards. The Endoscopy Technician plays an essential role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.Patient Care & Procedure SupportPrepare patients for designated endoscopic procedures as directed by the physician and nursing staff.Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and technical support.Promote a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for patients and their families.Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, sensitivity, and respect in all patient interactions.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Teamwork & Customer ServiceCollaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the healthcare team.Foster positive relationships that promote patient, physician, and staff satisfaction.Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with departmental needs.DocumentationComplete all required documentation accurately, legibly, and within established timeframes.Maintain records related to equipment maintenance, reprocessing, and specimen handling as required.Specimen ManagementProperly collect, label, handle, and transport patient specimens according to organizational policies.Accurately complete laboratory requisitions and pathology/culture documentation.QualificationsBehaviorsTeam Player: Works well as a member of a groupDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellMotivationsGrowth Opportunities: Inspired to perform well by the chance to take on more responsibilityFlexibility: Inspired to perform well when granted the ability to set your own schedule and goalsExperienceOne (1) year of experience as an Endoscopy Technician preferred but not required.Licenses & CertificationsBasic Life SupportEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
