Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Energy and Climate Solutions Associate in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will focus on transactional work within the energy sector, contributing to a leading clean energy project development practice.
Duties
Craft and negotiate key project development contracts, including power purchase agreements and energy service contracts.
Work on framework commercial agreements and joint venture transactions.
Serve as the primary associate on project and portfolio acquisitions and related financing support.
Adapt commercial structures for various energy projects and buyers.
Engage in structuring and negotiating energy project offtake transactions.
Maintain daily direct contact with clients, partners, and counterparty counsel.
Requirements
3rd to 7th year associate with a transactional focus in the energy sector.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Interest in developing long-term mastery in energy project transactions.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Skills
Proficiency in negotiating and drafting complex contracts.
Ability to work with diverse energy technologies and regulatory requirements.
