Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Energy and Climate Solutions Associate to join their team in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on transactional work within the energy sector, emphasizing clean energy project development and innovation.

Duties

Craft and negotiate key project development contracts, including power purchase agreements and energy service contracts.

Work on framework commercial agreements and joint venture transactions.

Serve as the primary associate on project and portfolio acquisitions and related financing support.

Utilize and adapt commercial structures for various energy projects and buyers.

Engage in structuring and negotiating energy project offtake transactions.

Maintain daily direct contact with clients, partners, and counterparty counsel.

Requirements

3rd to 7th year associate with a focus on transactional work in the energy sector.

Strong communication and project management skills.

Interest in developing long-term expertise in energy project transactions.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

Proficiency in negotiating and drafting complex contracts.

Ability to work with diverse energy technologies and regulatory requirements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
