Job OverviewA law firm seeks an Energy Counsel or Income Partner to join its practice in Ann Arbor, MI. This role involves representing clients in complex regulatory, litigation, and transactional matters within the energy sector. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across various practices to navigate the evolving energy regulatory landscape.DutiesRepresent clients in regulatory and litigation matters.Provide strategic regulatory counseling.Support energy-related mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions.Collaborate with colleagues across energy, corporate, and litigation practices.RequirementsSignificant experience representing clients before FERC.Experience with state energy regulatory agencies and public utility commissions.Strong regulatory and litigation experience in the energy sector.Experience advising on regulatory aspects of energy-related transactions.Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.Ability to manage sophisticated client matters and collaborate across practice areas.Appetite for business development.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree.CertificationsAdmission to the state bar.SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in managing multiple projects and shifting priorities.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance.Profit-sharing and generous paid time off.Flexible reimbursement account for personal well-being expenses.
