Job description
Energy Portfolio Manager, Pre-Operational AssetsIn this role, you will be a key contributor to Meta's Global Energy Team, specifically the Clean Energy Asset Management Team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clean and renewable energy contracts and as needed, carbon reduction or carbon removal agreements, including: supporting/leading negotiations for amendments, ensuring contract compliance, monitoring project development and construction status, and reporting on financial and operational performance for operating projects. You will have the opportunity to master contract details, analyze financial and operational project performance, resolve disputes, and propose solutions.ResponsibilitiesServe as the ongoing owner for all of Meta's executed clean energy and carbon credit requirementsCreate, maintain, update documents and data related to clean and renewable energy contractsTrack counterparty compliance with contract milestones and other deliverablesRespond to counterparty inquiries and manage contract amendments, collateral, force majeure claims, and other issues as neededSurface and resolve issues in ongoing contracts and project operationsTrack and analyze clean energy operational project performanceTrack and analyze renewable energy financial project performanceTrack project progress through development and construction milestones, and lead risk reporting against schedule and forecastManage the approval and signature process for contract documents after executionSupport invoicing and reporting on clean energy contracts, and ensure that RECs, costs, and project performance are consistent with contract terms and conditionsCoordinate with legal counsel, finance, accounting, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, and other key stakeholdersQualificationsBachelor's degree in business, energy, or environmental science, paralegal studies, or a similar field5+ years of experience in clean energy contract management, renewable energy procurement, or energy project operations at organizations such as a corporate renewable energy buyer, IPP, owner operator, electric utility, energy supplier, or an energy-intensive industrial or consumer companyExperience in managing a portfolio of renewable energy contracts, especially wind and solar energy supply contractsExperience drafting official correspondence between counterparties and experience developing and maintaining partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholdersExperience with G Suite, Excel, Word, and TableauExperience in building cross-functional relationshipsExperience in analyzing and interpreting energy generation data, virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and wholesale energy market data Experience developing portfolio-level reporting and dashboardsExperience communicating complex contractual and technical issues to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., through executive summaries, briefing documents, or status reports)Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to optimize and redesign workflows, driving measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)8+ years of experience in clean energy contracts and/or asset management, renewable energy origination, or energy project operationsProven experience in tracking utility-scale generation and storage development and construction milestones, including interconnection, permitting, and EPC schedulesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems
