Job description

Rockstar is recruiting for a clean energy finance company that is transforming the way clean energy projects are financed. They are a team of dynamic and savvy professionals who have built a consistently profitable company focused on the long term. Our client is looking for an Engagement Manager to join their team.

About the Client

The company is transforming the way clean energy projects are financed.

Since 2024, their tax credit transfer business has partnered with major corporations to unlock over $8 billion in clean energy investment, including some of the industry's largest transactions.

Their compliance business is building disruptive software for developers to track operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

The company has built a consistently profitable business, focused on building for the long term.

They raised a small seed round of funding in 2023 and have since repaid their investors in full.

They do not have pressure from VCs or outside investors to chase short-term targets; they have the autonomy to focus on building a great long-term business.

Their laser focus on solving tough problems has resulted in repeat customers and strong profitability since 2024.

They have worked hard to build a mission-driven company culture that values creativity, collaboration, excellence, and speed without sacrificing fun.

Their talented team includes experienced leaders from SunEdison, SolarCity, Tesla, GoodLeap, and other clean energy companies; they are consistently amazed by what their 30+ person team of experts can accomplish.

They look for curious, smart, and kind colleagues with an entrepreneurial streak (they have quite a few ex-entrepreneurs on their team).

This company is a great place to learn from energy finance experts and play a critical role in deploying clean energy technologies such as battery storage, nuclear, manufacturing, solar, and wind.

About the Role

In 2025, the company launched a PWA software solution that helps developers comply with prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA) requirements to unlock the full value of clean energy tax credits. Their PWA solution is rapidly gaining traction in the market, and they are growing their team to accelerate adoption and expand their product offerings. Join them in the fight against climate change by helping renewable energy developers build faster!

As an Engagement Manager, you'll be a go-to expert for customers looking for PWA compliance reporting and auditing, and eventually for other compliance needs including FEOC, BOC, and Domestic Content. You will rely on strong communication and problem-solving skills to help developers, contractors, and project owners understand how to stay compliant and get the most out of the software platform.

This is a highly customer-facing and technical role: you'll manage key customer accounts, develop efficient processes, and think through how they expand their product offerings. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to ensure that customers are both technically successful and compliance confident when using the company's platform.

What You'll Do

Serve as the customer's primary point of contact on Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship (PWA) requirements, providing guidance and support across a portfolio of accounts.

Mentor and manage a high-performing team.

Manage the delivery of industry-leading audited reports through the platform, ensuring rigorous human-in-the-loop auditing processes.

Provide product feedback by partnering closely with product and engineering teams, representing customer needs and contributing to platform roadmap discussions.

Establish best practices to ensure accurate, consistent, and scalable data collection and maintenance.

Collaborate with sales and account management teams to align on customer satisfaction goals, retention strategies, and growth opportunities.

Act as a go-to resource on complex federal/state guidance and labor compliance requirements, creating materials and training that empower both customers and internal teams.

What You'll Need

7+ years of experience in a high-paced, fast growth environment or at a leading tax, accounting, legal, or consulting firm

Clear track record of high performance and increasing responsibility

Demonstrated ability to dig into technical tax / accounting topics and understand the details

Experience managing customer relationships as a trusted advisor; strong communication skills and comfort explaining complex topics and answering tough questions

Systems mindset, with the ability to think strategically and develop repeatable processes

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Nice to Haves

Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm or similar

Technical experience in Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship or other related labor compliance programs

Experience managing and mentoring team members

Why Join?

Help scale one of the most exciting and impactful clean energy finance companies

Work directly with experienced founders and a top-tier team

Competitive compensation and early-stage equity

Benefits including full medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee, with partial coverage for dependents

Generous 401K match

Travel to company offsites 2-3x per year to meet teammates in-person

Flexible PTO plan

Note

The company is an equal opportunity employer. If you're excited about helping accelerate the energy transition, even if your background doesn't check every box, we encourage you to apply.
