Job description
Construction InspectorPerforms a broad range of construction related inspection activities to assure quality in road and bridge construction projects.Inspects more difficult or extensive MDOT Local Agency Projects involving Federal Aid Funding requiring detailed reporting and recordkeeping.Maintain project records that are subject to audit by MDOT and FHWA in addition to all normal inspectional requirements.Provides direction and coordinates the work of other inspectors (including third party contractors) when required.Calculate volumes and areas of complex shapes to track material quantities.Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.A High School Diploma or equivalent with math training sufficient to perform field and laboratory tests.Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction inspection, commensurate with the duties described above.Experience with AASHTOWare Project and FieldManager is preferred.Must possess and maintain a valid state of Michigan driver license.This position is within a bargaining unit and the individual that holds this position is subject to the terms and conditions of the existing collective bargaining agreement.Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license.Attractive benefits packageEOE/ADA/Drug Free Workplace
