Engineering Maintenance TechnicianThe Engineering Maintenance Technician is a hands-on automation professional responsible for keeping warehouse automation equipment safe, reliable, and available. This role maintains, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic systems; executes preventative and corrective maintenance; and sustains spare parts readiness so downtime is minimized. The ideal candidate is safety-oriented, technically strong, and able to troubleshoot under pressure while partnering with engineering and operations to improve equipment reliability and long-term sustainability.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance (PM) on automation, industrial production, and mechatronics equipment to sustain reliability and reduce unplanned downtimeRespond to and repair production-down equipment as a first-line problem solver; restore equipment/to safe operating conditionExecute corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, conveyor, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC/network, and robotics systemsMaintain spare parts readiness—identify critical spares, order parts/supplies from catalogues or storerooms, and keep inventory aligned to equipment needsLog all work performed (PMs, repairs, parts usage, shift pass-downs) accurately and on timeRead mechanical drawings and electrical schematics; use meters and standard hand/power tools to diagnose faults and implement lasting fixesUphold safety standards while working in production environments (heights, confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs) and complete other tasks as directed by managementRequirements5+ years of maintenance experience on production/manufacturing or automation equipment, or equivalent training/educationSolid electrical knowledge with advanced multimeter skills; able to troubleshoot using schematic diagrams across AC/DC systemsProficient with pneumatics (solenoid valves, actuators, controls) and basic hydraulic system operations; able to read related schematicsAbility to analyze faults and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions—not only temporary recoveriesAble to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and inspect to specified tolerancesStrong verbal and written communication for procedures, shift pass-downs, and coordination with engineering, operations, and leadershipSafety-oriented; able to work in a fast-paced production environment, including off-shifts as needed; competent with job-specific PC applications and basic computer toolsCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks programExpected Compensation $37.38 - $49.28/hour + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
