Mid Market Sales Engineer IIReady to deliver advanced network solutions for mid-market clients and partner with sales teams on technical strategy? As a Mid Market Sales Engineer II at Spectrum, you will evaluate customer requirements, design cost-effective network solutions and present compelling technical proposals focused on Fiber Internet Access, Private Networking, Voice and Cloud services. Your expertise will help clients achieve their goals while supporting Spectrum's continued growth and innovation.How You Will Make an ImpactCommunicate with customers and sales teams to assess network environments, business needs and technical requirements, delivering strategic proposals and solutionsDesign complex voice and data network solutions, preparing network topologies and technical specifications for customer applicationsPrepare pre-sale conceptual designs, collaborating with Engineering and Operations for review, approval and costingCompile project cost elements, work on solution pricing and submit IRR analyses to Finance for approvalReview and refine solutions for mid-market clients with 25-500 employees, ensuring proposals align with client needsSupport Sales Engineer I with complex solutions, acting as a resource on technical projects and customer challengesPresent technical proposals on Spectrum Business products and services, guiding customers through integration and implementationServe as a liaison between customers, sales teams and internal departments, conducting site surveys for successful installationsProvide documentation and support to installation and project management teams, clarifying service expectations with diagrams, written materials, handling questions during installation and turn-up related to solution design and equipment operationDeliver technical training to Account Executives, Account Managers and Sales Support personnel, and assist with developing and launching new productsMaintain and expand knowledge of Spectrum Business products, industry trends and emerging technologiesWorking ConditionsOffice environmentTravel RequiredWhat You Will Bring to SpectrumRequired QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent from an accredited organization (GED)SkillsRead, write, speak and understand EnglishWork closely with sales executives and proven knowledge of the sales cycleKnowledge of Metro Ethernet technologies (EPL, EVPL, ELAN), LANs, WANs, email, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs and data security methodsSales skills in presentation and proposal designUnderstanding of networking technologies: TCP/IP, IP VPN, MPLS, VPLS, Ethernet, VoIP, SONET, DWDMFamiliarity with networking fundamentals: routers, switches, LAN, MAN, WAN, DS3, OC-x, CSU/DSU and CPEConsultative approach with strong knowledge of converged multimedia applicationsExperience with voice networking including VoIP, signaling protocols, PBX, and routing protocols: BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP and emerging technologiesUnderstanding of business drivers, industry trends and regulatory shifts in targeted vertical marketsProficiency with MS Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS ProjectValid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and auto insurance coveragePreferred QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree with a concentration in IT or telecommunications engineering technology, or equivalent training and experienceExperience5+ years of sales engineering and networking experience in the telecom or service provider industrySkillsCCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, MEF-CECP certifications preferredHere, our employees don't just have jobs, they're building careers.
