Job description
Plumbing TechnicianInstalls & repairs pipes, fixtures, and valves, for water, gas, steam, and air systems.Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.Assembles fittings and valves for installation.Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed.Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary.Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems.Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes.Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom liftsOperate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveriesEnsure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and suppliesPromote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practicesOrder materials and parts for job executionUse current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignmentsAccess Building Management System to review HVAC systems and make changes if neededPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedMinimum requirements:High School Diploma/GED1-year basic plumbing work experienceValid Driver's LicenseDesired requirements:2-years commercial plumbing work experiencePlumbing training certificate from BOCES Votec or equivalentThe base pay rate is $29.12/hr and will increase on progression ($37.11/hr - $45.64/hr) upon completion of training. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
