Job description
Medical Billing AssistantThe Medical Billing Assistant will help prepare and review insurance claims, assist with basic billing and coding tasks, update patient and insurance information, and support the administrative workflows that help keep clinical operations running smoothly. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with translating medical procedures and diagnoses into standardized billing and coding formatsPrepare and submit insurance claims accurately and on timeReview claims for completeness and help identify or correct coding and billing errorsCommunicate with patients regarding billing questions, payment options, and payment plansVerify insurance information and update patient billing recordsWork closely with medical providers and administrative teams to ensure accurate claim documentationMaintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA, privacy, and company compliance guidelinesPerform general administrative tasks including data entry, document processing, scanning, and file managementSupport billing, reimbursement, coding, and claims workflows as assignedHelp maintain organized and accurate billing recordsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentActive HIPAA compliance / training credential requiredStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and customer service skillsOrganized, dependable, and eager to learnAbility to manage multiple tasks in a structured office environmentBasic computer skills and comfort with data entryAbility to handle confidential patient and billing information with professionalismBenefits & Career GrowthOn-the-job trainingOpportunities for advancement within the organizationSupportive and professional work environmentHealth insurance optionsLong-term career path in healthcare administrationIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in healthcare administration.
