Job description

General Production WorkerThis role focuses on casting, painting, and packaging ceramic hearth products for fireplaces in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will primarily prepare paint bottles, assemble screw components, crush embers, and support minor casting activities as needed. The position requires consistent attention to detail, the ability to follow clear instructions, and comfort with repetitive, hands-on production work that involves lifting and handling heavy materials.ResponsibilitiesCast ceramic hearth products by lifting 50-pound buckets of casting material (mud) and carefully pouring them into molds approximately every 15-20 minutes.Prepare and fill paint bottles used in the production process, ensuring accurate quantities and proper labeling.Assemble screw components and related parts according to work orders and manufacturing procedures.Crush embers and other materials as needed to support the production of ceramic hearth products.Perform painting tasks using brushes and paint sprayers to finish ceramic products to quality standards.Package finished ceramic hearth products accurately and securely for shipment, following established packaging and labeling procedures.Use a variety of hand tools such as drills, scrapers, paint brushes, paint sprayers, and bar code readers safely and effectively.Follow work orders and adhere to the manufacturing process to maintain consistent production flow.Maintain a clean and organized work area despite working with mud, fibers, and other messy materials.Stay focused on tasks, follow clear directions, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.Routinely lift and move materials weighing between 30-40 pounds throughout the shift.Support general production and general labor tasks as assigned, including loading, packing, and other duties to meet production goals.Essential SkillsAbility to understand and follow clear directions and stay on task in a fast-paced environment.Prior manufacturing experience is ideal, particularly in production, assembly, or general labor roles.Experience with general production tasks such as packaging, inspection, loading, and working with work orders and manufacturing processes.Comfort working with fiber casting materials, including tolerance for itchiness and dust associated with these materials.Strong attention to detail and comfort performing repetitive tasks with consistent quality.Willingness to get dirty and work in a hot, humid environment while handling mud and other messy materials.Technical skills to use a variety of hand tools, including drills, scrapers, paint brushes, paint sprayers, and bar code readers.Ability to routinely lift and carry between 30-40 pounds and occasionally lift 50-pound buckets of casting material.Comfort working in a manufacturing and general labor setting with fast-paced production demands.Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
