Entry Level Composites Shipping and Receiving AssociateThe Gund Company, a leader in engineered material solutions, specializes in customized electrical insulation products. We are currently seeking an Entry Level Composites Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team.Job SummaryImplement the Order Fulfillment Process steps related to the preparation of shipments and related documentation to ensure the complete satisfaction of the customer's requirements.Knowledge of various items in stock; ability to select appropriate type and size of container; using appropriate packing material to prevent breakage or damage; closing and sealing containers; applying labels or entering identifying data on container.Use of bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product.Key Responsibilities Composites Shipping and Receiving AssociatePrepare product for shipment to the customer by inspecting, labeling and packaging product according to standard procedures.Packaging 4x8, 3x6, and 3x10 material skids.Confirm correct quantity/counts against work order or packing slip.Reconcile raw materials against the packing slip.Storage of raw materials in their designated home locations.Operate forklift.Load and unload trucks.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsQualifications and CompetenciesRequires the ability to read production or shipping documentsPerform work independently with minimal defectsCommunicate with supervisor on work order priorityOpen to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of partsBasic to intermediate math skillsAbility to learn and understand drawing and blueprintsAbility to use basic measuring instrumentsAbility to operate a forkliftExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work overtime as neededWork EnvironmentThis role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.The position involves repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.Education and ExperienceA High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred, but not required.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is/may be required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
