Job Summary:
This position leads the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our large and complex manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall EHS program at the site, including creating and implementing strategic safety and EHS initiatives to foster and enhance our EHS culture. This role requires a strong technical EHS skillset to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. It includes participation on the Plant Leadership Team and managing a team of direct reports as well as the ability to lead and influence without direct authority. Ensures compliance with company quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and company safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.
Responsibilities:
Provide theoretical and hands‑on electrical support to the production departments and identify problems and pursue plans toward their resolution.
Support the plant manufacturing effort by developing and implementing plans to improve upon chronic levels of waste, quality defects, equipment downtime, capacity, etc. Implementation of these plans will often include leading teams of technical associates and engineers.
Familiarize yourself with NEC, OSHA, FDA, ISO and QSR requirements.
Document all line modifications whether electrical, programming or mechanical per plant policies and procedures. This documentation includes but is not limited to completing the proper change review forms, updating specifications, backing up modified software and updating changes in electrical and mechanical drawings.
Supports project managers by taking a lead role in the development, programming and design of varied and complex portions of new production lines from basic engineering data and direction. Support includes but is not limited to electrical installation, system design, system testing and programming of PLC’s, machine vision systems, Servo & Stepper Motor Control Systems, various drive and other miscellaneous electrical systems.
Required Skills:
Five years of relevant experience in EHS management in a large manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of LOTO, Machine Guarding, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
Experience in Medical Device, Chemical, or manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with OSHA PSM is preferred.
Experience managing a team in a cross-functional environment is required.
Knowledge and experience in ISO14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 compliance preferred. Auditor certifications a plus.
