A well-established manufacturer is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead site safety initiatives and manage a small EH&S team. This role requires a hands-on safety professional who builds relationships on the manufacturing floor, develops team capability, and drives accountability across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the site’s EH&S programs, with a strong emphasis on workplace safety and injury prevention.
Manage, coach, and develop a small safety team.
Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and plant leadership to identify hazards and implement practical solutions.
Drive incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and timely corrective actions.
Lead safety training, inspections, audits, and emergency preparedness activities.
Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA requirements and federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Track safety performance and use data to prioritize improvements.
Strengthen employee engagement and reinforce consistent safety expectations throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Progressive EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong safety expertise, including hazard recognition, incident prevention, and regulatory compliance.
Experience leading a small team or supervising EH&S professionals.
Demonstrated ability to influence plant leaders, supervisors, and hourly employees.
A practical, visible leadership style and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Professional safety certification, such as CSP or ASP, preferred.
