Job Summary
GSP is seeking an Environmental Advisor to provide expert guidance and support on environmental compliance, risk management, and sustainability initiatives across our operations.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and support the preparation of environmental permits and licenses.
Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies.
Monitor environmental performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees at all levels.
Investigate environmental incidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and external consultants on environmental matters.
Support the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives.
Prepare and present regular environmental performance reports to management.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmental advisory or management role, preferably within the oil and gas or heavy industry sectors.
In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001).
Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct EIAs and risk assessments.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Environmental Diploma) are highly desirable.
