Role Description
This full-time, on-site Environmental Inspector role is based in Providence, RI. The Environmental Inspector will perform field inspections of properties and sites to assess water, air, and soil conditions, following established protocols and safety standards. Responsibilities include collecting samples, documenting site observations, interpreting test results, and preparing clear, concise inspection reports for clients. The role also involves identifying potential environmental risks, advising clients on basic compliance considerations, and coordinating with internal consultants or external stakeholders as needed. The inspector will maintain accurate records, use field equipment responsibly, and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection practices.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in environmental compliance and environmental consulting to help clients understand risks and stay aligned with regulations.
Candidates should possess knowledge of environmental law to recognize relevant regulatory requirements and support compliance-focused inspections.
Candidates should possess strong inspection skills, including field sampling, site assessment, and accurate documentation of findings.
Candidates should possess supervisory skills to oversee field activities, coordinate junior staff or contractors, and ensure quality standards are met.
Relevant qualifications include a degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to interpret technical data, write clear reports, and communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
Comfort working on-site in varied outdoor and indoor conditions, with attention to safety procedures and use of field equipment.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to inspection sites; prior experience in environmental inspection or consulting is a plus.
