Compensation : $98,000 - $124,000 base + 15% annual bonus
OVERVIEW
Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Manager in Brook, IN to join a large waste management and environmental solutions organization. The Environmental Manager will lead Landfill Engineering & Development initiatives as well as Regulatory Compliance operations across their local landfill and transfer station sites. They will monitor and maintain budgeting and spending for construction, development, and other operational activities at these sites. This individual must also have a background and understanding of various environmental compliance regulations, permitting requirements and processes, and reporting needs.
Responsibilities Include:
Own the full lifecycle of landfill development projects from design through construction and ongoing operations
Manage permitting, design coordination, and construction execution for landfill infrastructure
Oversee landfill cells, gas collection systems, leachate systems, and other industrial facility components
Lead procurement efforts including RFP development and vendor selection
Manage third-party consultants and contractors responsible for design and build
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
Serve as the primary liaison with regulators and environmental agencies
Own all permitting activity including new permits, renewals, and modifications
Stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure the site is aligned with new legislation and landfill requirements
Drive process improvements to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency
Ensure all onsite personnel understand and follow compliance protocols
Oversee environmental monitoring programs and inspections (sampling, tracking, reporting, etc.)
Lead training efforts (including seasonal/technical training) and act as the go-to for all compliance-related questions
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in landfill engineering, construction, and/or compliance operations
2+ years of experience in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and permitting related to landfill operations (e.G., GWPS, RCRA, EGLE, US EPA)
Compensation : $98,000 - $124,000 annual salary + 15% target annual bonus. Exact compensation will vary depending on experience, education, locality, and related skills.
