Job description

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

As an Environmental Remediation Intern, you will too. You'll impact the world around you by helping us solve real-life challenges. YOU are the future of our company. We’ll rely on you to provide support to our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning as you bring fresh ideas to the table.

Based out of an approved Jacobs office location, including but not limited to Milwaukee, WI; Atlanta, GA; Bellevue, WA; Irvine, CA; and Chicago, IL. You will assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget for world class projects. You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive group of professional staff as you plan and execute field activities including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and remediation system maintenance; prepare scopes of work for subcontracts, conduct data analysis on field and laboratory data sets, and create technical reports documenting completed activities and results. Estimated time spent doing field work is approximately 85%, with some of that being out-of-town travel. When not traveling, you will work with team members within your assigned office.

Pave the way for your career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow, and succeed – today and into tomorrow.

Here's what you'll need

In pursuit of a Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or closely related field

Must be at least a rising Junior

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Willingness to perform field work and travel

United States Citizenship

Drivers License Required

Ability to work from one of the approved Jacobs locations

Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs

Self-driven time management and organizational skills

Ability to obtain 40-hour hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher class

Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. Your well-being. Your security. Your future. Employees have access to a 401(k) plan, as well as legally mandated benefits.

The base salary range for this position is $47,300.00 to $60,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
