Job description
Jackpot Veterinary Center is seeking an Equine Surgeon to join our growing equine referral and ambulatory practice in Tucson, Arizona.
About Jackpot Veterinary Center
Jackpot Veterinary Center was established in 2014 with a commitment to excellent patient care, client relationships, education, and creating a positive veterinary workplace.
Our equine services have continued to expand in response to the needs of horse owners and referring veterinarians throughout Southern Arizona. In 2019, we added equine hospitalization and emergency care. In 2023, we brought equine surgery back to the Tucson area for the first time in more than a decade.
In 2027, we are taking another major step forward with the addition of a Qalibra large-bore CT system, providing the only equine CT in Arizona and significantly expanding our capabilities for advanced diagnostics, surgical planning, and complex case management.
Why We Are Adding Another Surgeon
Our goal is to make emergency equine surgery available to Southern Arizona seven days a week while continuing to grow our elective surgical caseload.
Adding a second equine surgeon will allow us to expand surgical availability while creating a sustainable schedule for our doctors and team.
There is significant opportunity for continued growth in equine referral medicine in our region. Rather than requiring horse owners to routinely travel several hours for advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, or surgery, we want to continue building those options locally.
The incoming surgeon will have the opportunity to play an important role in developing that future. We are looking for a surgeon who is excited about joining an established but still growing referral service.
Our goal is not simply to increase surgical volume. We want to build a sustainable equine referral center that serves horse owners and referring veterinarians throughout Southern Arizona while providing a rewarding place for veterinary professionals to build their careers.
