Kansas Grading Team PositionHours: Monday - Friday 6am-6pmPay: $23-$26 an hourMartin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated individual to join our Kansas Grading Team. This position will have the opportunity to operate large equipment like the 374 Cat Excavator or D8 Cat bulldozer removing overburden in different quarries around Kansas. This position will be based out of Grantville, KS but will travel around to locations near Onaga, St. Mary's, and Soldier Kansas to move dirt and shale in the mining process.Essential FunctionsParticipate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel cultureInspect equipment for signs of wearPerform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipmentWork in a team environmentClean work areasManeuver trucks into loading or unloading positionsProper wear of personal protective equipmentNotify supervisors of repairs neededEnsure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirementsAssist in plant maintenance and repairsPerform duties with minimum supervisionPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.Preferred Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentMust have a valid driver's licenseBulldozers and excavator experience1 + years related experienceValid US driver's licenseKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work with minimal supervisionKnowledge of MSHA regulationsEffective verbal communicationKnowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenancePhysical AbilitiesAbility to work in an outdoor environment year-roundGeneral physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materialsAdditional Information Disclaimer: In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs.
