Job description

Job TitleThis is a Full time, Non-Bargaining, Non-Exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with an hourly pay range of $21.95 - $30.98. This position will work at 1820 2nd Ave North Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460Job SummaryThis is a skilled position for the operation of all types of heavy equipment used in the operation of a sanitary sewer system. Works under the direct overseeing of a Foreman or Supervisor.Essential FunctionsEssential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Employees may also perform related work as required.Operate backhoe, grading tractor, jet truck, flat-bed truck, dump truck and pickup truckParticipates in the installation, maintenance and repair of sewer mains and related appurtenances.Operates televising equipment used in sewer system vaporooter equipmentWorks near and around utility conflicts exercising caution and careRequired to carry a beeper and answer after hour callouts.Performs related work as required.Other Related DutiesThe examples of essential functions as listed in this classification specification are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Sanitary Sewer and or Storm Sewer.Language SkillsAbility to read, writes, and comprehends simple instructions in the English language, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and citizensKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of the materials, methods, practices and equipment used in the operation of the sanitary sewer systems.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and of safety precautions in operating equipmentPhysical strength and agility sufficient to do heavy lifting and carrying and to work occasionally under adverse weather conditionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relations with other employees and the general publicAbility to accurately read system maps, blueprints, and thorough knowledge of service area.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Sensory RequirementsMust possess visual acuity to produce and review written reports and records including mathematical calculations, operate a computer terminal, analyze data, and read maps, schematic drawings, and plans, and do extensive reading.All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation.Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment.
