Equipment OperatorStapleton, NEForbes Bros. Group of Companies delivers transmission, distribution, substation, and related power infrastructure projects across Canada and the United States.Our work spans field construction, project delivery, operations, and corporate support in an environment where safety, execution, and reliability matter.POSITION SUMMARYTaking direction from the foreman or lead hand, this position is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of equipment and daily pre/post maintenance checks. The heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.Core ResponsibilitiesField Safety Leadership & ComplianceEnsuring safety and quality is at the forefront of every taskOperate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and proceduresPerform daily pre/post safety and maintenance checksEnsure heavy equipment is safely and securely storedEquipment Operation to IncludeloadersdozerstelehandlergradersexcavatorsLodrilVibro-HammerAnd other pieces of equipment.Daily ResponsibilitiesAble to follow site plansWork closely with construction team to understand tasks and provide feedbackUnderstand and have knowledge with equipment operating manualsClean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or requiredAdvise the fleet Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairsParticipate in routine maintenance, cleaning, greasing etc.Ensuring documentation for equipment is up to date as per daily checkEssential RequirementsEducation & ExperienceOperators certificate from a licensed service provider3 to 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, and skid steers, as well as crawler tractors.Experience working on powerline, utility, transmission, or related infrastructure projects is considered a strong asset.Class 1 / CDL license with air brake endorsement is considered an asset.Crane operator certifications or related lifting equipment tickets are considered an asset.Class 5 license, class 1 license with air brakes considered assetSkills & AbilitiesProven experience operating loaders, excavators, and skid steers.Experience operating telehandlers, graders, dozers, Lodrils, Vibro-Hammers, and other heavy equipment is considered an asset.Ability to read and follow site plans and work safely in active construction environments.Strong understanding of equipment operating manuals, inspections, and preventative maintenance requirements.Experience supporting powerline, transmission, utility, or civil construction projects is considered an asset.Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew while maintaining a strong safety focus.The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements. This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.Base Pay Range$32 - $41 USDForbes Bros.
