Equipment OperatorPerform the duties of an Equipment Operator for the Streets Division in the Public Works Department. Employee will report to the crew supervisor assigned to the specific work task. This is an on-call position. Generally work hours are 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. (12 hour shifts) as determined by storm events and may include weekends and holidays. May require overtime and evening hours as needed.The salary range for this position is $25.00 - $29.38 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part year position lasting a maximum of 10 months working less than 30 hours per week. Position will close to applicants on Monday, January 1st, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. M.S.T.Operates snow removal equipment. Clearing roads, applying chemicals. Will be required to operate front-end loader. Prepares vehicle mileage reports and other documents as necessary. Performs routine maintenance on assigned vehicle. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to report to Streets Division office located at 2525 W. 1 st Street, Loveland within 30 minutes of notification.Must have the ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers and crew leaders. One to two years experience with large commercial vehicles preferred. Valid Colorado Class B commercial driver's license required. Tanker endorsement preferred. Tandem axle trucks with plow and anti-icing chemical attachments. Sitting and driving for extended periods up to 12 hours. Will be expected to work safely and follow all established safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Requires pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, moving and placing objects (up to 50 lbs.) and performing strenuous manual labor to perform the essential functions of the job. Manual dexterity is required to complete work tasks through safe and proper operation of hand tools, power tools, motor vehicles and construction equipment. Must be able to work in adverse conditions such as: extreme weather variances; heavy traffic and equipment noise, and close proximity to moving vehicles. Considered essential personnel required to report for duty in response to community emergencies (e.g. natural disaster, fire, flood, blizzard, etc.).With over 300 days of sunshine, and just 30 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park in the heart of northern Colorado, Loveland is an ideal community for anyone to call home.
