Equipment Service Technician | $35–$40/HR | Monday–Friday Schedule

Location: Fairfield, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | 30-minute lunch | Occasional Saturdays
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour, depending on experience
Pay Type: Hourly
Pay Schedule: Weekly

Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and service street sweepers and related equipment
Perform preventive maintenance inspections, oil changes, lubrication services, and routine maintenance
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related issues
Complete equipment repairs in the shop and at customer locations
Diagnose and repair bearings and other mechanical components
Use Cummins diagnostic and scan tools as needed
Document work performed, parts used, and service outcomes accurately
Maintain customer machines and company-owned fleet vehicles according to manufacturer guidelines and company safety procedures
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of relevant mechanical experience
Experience in diesel, fleet maintenance, automotive repair, or a related mechanical field
Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to perform maintenance and mechanical repairs independently
Must have your own tools
Street sweeper experience is not required — we will train the right candidate on our equipment
OEM or manufacturer training/certifications, street sweeper or municipal experience, and Cummins experience are preferred but not required
Fullbay experience preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
$35–$40/hour, depending on experience

Overtime paid after 40 hours with pre-approval

Technicians work in a 4-bay shop with a stable workload supporting a fleet of more than 250 machines. Prior street sweeper experience is not required, and candidates with transferable diesel, fleet, automotive repair, or related mechanical experience will receive training on the specialized equipment and systems used in this role.
