Estimator/Project Manager
The Kelly Group is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager for its Lafayette, Indiana location. Candidates with 1 to 3 years of estimating/project management experience, preferably in the construction industry, are preferred. Recent graduates or candidates nearing completion of a degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or construction management are also encouraged to apply.
This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:
Estimate civil, structural and mechanical projects, with a focus on concrete foundations, structural steel and heavy equipment setting
Supervise and direct superintendents and workforce
Maintain and develop relationships with both new and existing customers
Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand the constructability of projects
Perform contract and subcontract review and negotiation
Conduct pre-job meetings with superintendents to review scope of work, scheduling, manpower requirements, work sequence, special requirements and safety
Monitor ongoing jobs for costs, profitability and schedule adherence
Maintain safety awareness and reinforce safe behaviors with superintendents and workforce
Possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to company insurer
Hands-on knowledge of estimating software, scheduling software, cost distribution and common contracting procedures is also preferred.
A company vehicle, cell phone and laptop will be provided for this position. A discretionary bonus — based on various performance factors including profitability — may be awarded annually for this position.
