Eastern Carver County Schools' Building and Grounds Department is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for all students, staff and visitors. Our team provides daily support to maintain building systems and structures, service the grounds, provide custodial services, oversee construction and renovation projects, maintain compliance with building and fire codes, safety and environmental regulations, oversee security and fire alarm systems in all buildings.Position Start Date: ASAPDays/Hours: Monday - Friday; 2:00pm - 10:30pmSalary: $23.60/hr. + $0.40/hr. shift differentialResponsible To: Director of Buildings & GroundsPosition Purpose: Under general supervision, perform cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities.Major Job Functions/Specific Tasks:Performs regular custodial duties such as mopping, sweeping, dumping trash, cleaning glass, vacuuming, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, changing light bulbs etc.May be utilized to fill in at other locations if neededLocks and un-locks doors in building according to scheduled activitiesSet-up and clean-up for special eventsShovels snow and / or removes ice as requiredPerforms exterior cleaning duties such as sweeping sidewalks, picking trash etc.Moves furniture and equipment as neededResponds to the needs of building occupants and usersPerforms non-major repairs to building systems and equipmentPerforms basic preventative maintenance on building equipmentAbility to recognize hazards and take safety precautions to eliminate them or report to supervisor for actionResponds to School Dude work ordersResponds to emergencies as neededOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Able to operate equipment associated with custodial operationsDemonstrated personal dependability / regular attendanceConflict management skillsAbility to work positively with other building employees and groupsBasic computer skills, i.e. EmailAble to follow oral and written directionsCommunicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationshipsDemonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functionsLifting/Carrying – Up to 10 lbs.
