Afternoon/Evening CustodianImmediate openings for full-time Afternoon/Evening Custodians at Capital High School. At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As an Afternoon/Evening Custodian you contribute to this mission by keeping Capital High School in such a state of operating excellence that the building does not present any problems or interruptions to the education program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ maintenance personnel serving nearly 8,000 students and 18 campuses across Helena.Some of what you will do:Assists in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.Restocks disposable items and provides day maintenance person with inventory usage and data.Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs.Performs light maintenance as needed.Assists the visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.Maintains building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special events.To become part of this dedicated team, you need: High school diploma or equivalent; Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training; Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District. Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation.Entry level salary is $17.40 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefit package consisting of paid sick and vacation leave, 12 paid holidays, 2 paid personal days, health benefits and retirement.How to Apply: Complete the online application to include three professional references.
