HousekeepingQualification StandardsEducation & Experience:Previous experience in a housekeeping preferredHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredTools & Equipment:Housekeeping cart, vacuum/broom, duster, rags, window cleaner, furniture polish, brass cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, disinfectant cleaner, air freshener, toilet bowl cleaner, toilet bowl brush, gloves, dumpster/trash compactor, sponge, mops and buckets, keys, hand vacuum, door stopper, floor care products (i.e. stripper, wax, sealer), floor scrubber, floor buffer, carpet extractor, wet/dry industrial vacuum, extension cord, laundry chute, and elevators.Work Environment:Under variable temperature conditionsUnder variable noise levelsOutdoors/IndoorsAround chemicals, fumes and or odor hazardsAround dust and or mite hazardsPhysical Requirements:Long hours sometimes requiredHeavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsAbility to bend, stretch, twist, stoop or reach with your body and arms repeatedly without difficultyAbility to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigueAbility to work under variable temperatures and noise levelsNear Vision - The ability to see details at close rangeMental Requirements:Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in EnglishMust be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accuratelyMust be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessaryMust work well in stressful, high pressure situationsAbility to multi taskMust maintain composure and objectivity under pressureMust have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular needMust be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guestsMathematical Reasoning - Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functionsMulti-lingual skills helpfulDuties & FunctionsEssential:Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented mannerMaintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotelMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, as defined in the hotel handbook, when workingComply at all times with New Castle standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operationsCheck daily assignments/daily dutiesGather all cleaning supplies and return them dailyComplete all assigned cleaning duties in designated areasReport any engineering problems or repairs to the Housekeeping Supervisor or ManagerReturn any borrowed items (i.e. irons, boards, hairdryers, etc.) to Housekeeping department when removed from guestroomsVacuum floors in public areasService and re-stock housekeeping closetsRemove gum, wall spots, and floor spots with appropriate chemicalsWipe glass, pictures, windows, and public telephone areasClean public restrooms and replace productsComplete closet inventorySign keys in and outEmpty Housekeeping carts of dirty linen, trash, etc.Assist in floor careKeep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attentionGain knowledge of all hotel facilities to answer questions from the guestsMarginalOther duties as requiredAssist Room Attendants throughout the day with housecleaning rooms when neededAssist Room Attendants by stripping any vacant and dirty rooms when necessaryAssist in LaundryParticipate in department and hotel meetings as requestedBenefits at the AC Hotel & Residence Inn MissoulaWe believe that taking care of our team means more than just a paycheck.
