Event Security Guard – Non D-LicensedFlorida Panthers Hockey Club is hiring for a part-time, event-based role at FTL War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This position reports to the Security Supervisor and involves approximately 15–25 hours per week, primarily during evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.The Event Security team members play a pivotal role in creating a safe environment for guests from the moment they enter the venue until they depart. This role does not require a Florida D Security License, although D-Licensed positions are preferred and non D-Licensed positions are limited based on events.Essential functions include monitoring access to restricted areas and exterior doors, controlling guest and vendor access to FTL War Memorial, checking credentials to manage employee and visitor access during events, monitoring and responding to security issues or potential risks, providing excellent customer service, escorting guests as needed, following all safety and security policies, managing crisis situations effectively, handling radios professionally, and reporting all incidents to the Supervisor or Management. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in security, event staff, and/or customer service, an upbeat, team-first attitude, excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, a flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and passing a background check and drug screening.Core competencies include managing customer situations effectively, treating coworkers and guests with respect, adapting to changes in the work environment, identifying and resolving problems with sound reasoning, and adhering to scheduling expectations.The work environment involves high noise levels, heavy crowd traffic, variable temperatures, bright or dark lights, occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics, prolonged standing and walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects up to 30 pounds, repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and clear communication through talking and hearing.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender identity or expression, age, national origin or ancestry, citizenship, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, veteran status, membership in the uniformed services, genetic information, or any other basis protected by applicable law.
