Event Security Guard – Non D-LicensedThe Florida Panthers Hockey Club is hiring personable, attentive individuals looking for a part-time, event-based role full of excitement. Our Event Security team members play a pivotal role in creating a safe environment for our guests from the moment they enter the venue until the moment they depart.This role does not require a Florida D Security License. Please note that D-Licensed positions are preferred and non D-Licensed positions are limited based on events.Essential FunctionsMonitor access to restricted areas and exterior doors, maintaining a secure environment for all visitorsControl guest and vendor access to FTL War Memorial, both inside and outside the venueCheck credentials to manage employee and visitor access during eventsMonitor and respond to security issues or potential risks that may arise during an eventProvide excellent customer service to enhance the FTL War Memorial guest experienceEscort guests as needed throughout the venueFollow all safety and security policies, programs, and procedures; manage crisis situations effectivelyHandle radios professionally, communicating openly and clearly with other team membersReport all incidents to the Supervisor or ManagementOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in security, event staff, and/or customer service strongly preferredUpbeat, team-first attitude with a genuine desire to help peoplePassion to work with others and willingness to learnExcellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAssertive, detail-oriented team player with a professional demeanorSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently when necessaryMust have a flexible schedule and be available for evenings and weekendsReliable transportation requiredMust pass a background check and drug screeningCore CompetenciesCustomer Service: Manages customer situations effectively; responds promptly to guest needs and requests for service and assistanceEthics: Treats coworkers and guests with respect; works with integrity to uphold the values of the organizationAdaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands and unexpected events with composureProblem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems with sound reasoning; works well in group problem-solving situationsAttendance & Punctuality: Adheres to scheduling expectations to ensure adequate staffing, positive team morale, and consistent productivity standardsWork EnvironmentThis position works in a venue where the noise level is generally high, crowd traffic is heavy, and temperatures are variable — often cold. Lights are bright or dark with occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics.Physical DemandsProlonged standing and walking, including moving between work sites over long distancesPushing, pulling, and lifting objects up to 30 poundsRepetitive motion of wrists, hands, and/or fingersMust be able to communicate clearly through talking and hearing at normal speaking levelsVisual acuity required to monitor facilities, guests, and surroundings effectivelyPosition Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time, event-based position.
