Event Staff Associate - One-Day AssignmentLocated in: Virginia Beach, VA Pay: $18.00–$21.00/hour, depending on assignment Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026 Job Type: One-Day Temporary Assignment Openings: 7Potential Shifts: 6:00 AM–10:30 AM | 6:00 AM–11:30 AM | 9:30 AM–3:00 PM | 10:00 AM–6:30 PM | 10:30 AM–4:00 PM | 11:30 AM–5:00 PMApplicants do not need to be available for every shift. Associates will be matched to an assignment based on availability, experience, and event needs.Join Our Event Team for the Day!Express Employment Professionals is hiring 7 Event Staff Associates to support a large, one-day public event in Virginia Beach.We are looking for dependable, friendly, flexible people who are ready to jump in and help wherever needed. Positions range from guest services and activity support to event setup, sales assistance, and general event operations.This is a great opportunity to earn extra money on a Saturday without committing to an ongoing position.Potential ResponsibilitiesDepending on your assigned role, duties may include:Greeting and assisting event attendeesDistributing wristbands, giveaway bags, or other attendee materialsMonitoring entrances and helping manage guest flowDirecting attendees and answering basic questionsAssisting the event host with errands, signage, supplies, and other needsSupporting a family-friendly activity and paint stationKeeping event areas, tables, and supplies organizedProviding friendly customer service to attendees and vendorsSetting up signs, displays, tables, and event materialsCarrying supplies and materials to and from designated areasAssisting customers with merchandiseProcessing basic cash and credit card transactionsMaintaining and independently supporting a vendor/display areaAssisting with event breakdownProviding general support wherever additional help is neededPayGeneral Event Staff: $18.00/hourGeneral assignments may include guest services, wristband and giveaway distribution, entry monitoring, host assistance, and activity station support.Event Setup & Specialized Event Support: $21.00/hourCertain assignments pay a higher rate based on additional responsibilities.Setup Associates will help move and assemble event materials, signs, displays, and supplies. Candidates selected for setup must be comfortable with physical work and able to safely lift approximately 40–50 lbs.Sales & Operations Support may include assisting customers, handling cash and credit transactions, maintaining a vendor area, helping with setup and breakdown, and providing support throughout the event. Knowledge of or a strong interest in plants is preferred for this assignment.
