Job description
Environmental Services Worker – Village BasedPerform cleaning and minor maintenance in assigned clinic to maintain the facility in an aseptic condition as required. This position is key to enhancing patient care and employee health, accordingly all duties should be conducted in accordance with infection control policies and procedures for best practices.Uphold the organization's vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.Essential Functions:Wash and clean surface areas assigned according to established specialized cleaning procedures to include waxing, stripping, shampooing, vacuuming, sweeping, damp wiping, etc.Empty trash, sort and dispose of contaminated and non-contaminated trash according to established procedures and Infection Control guidelinesCheck equipment prior to the start of each day for any malfunctions, notifying supervisor and filling out a work request as required; clean equipment dailyCheck fuel tank levels, boiler operation and water systems reporting any problems that need to be correctedRemove snow and ice from entrances to provide entrance to the clinicReport any major maintenance concerns, damage or needed repairsPerform other duties as assignedPersonal Traits:All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization's values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride. Finally, all employees should have the ability to understand and manage patient/customer confidentiality.Job specific skills and abilities are listed below:• Aptitude for general repairs preferredMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma or EquivalentPhysical Requirements:• Sit less than half the workday• Stand and/or walk more than half the workday• Bend, stretch, twist, crouch and/or reach• Use hands and arm for repetitive motion tasks consistently for more than one hour at a time• Lift or carry unaided 25 to 50 pounds• Push or pull using up to moderate force• See and hear with normal acuityWorking Conditions:• Work is conducted in a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances• No travel required
