Job description
We're seeking an experienced operating executive to lead a Management Services Organization (MSO) supporting two behavioral health practices serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing all non-clinical functions — finance, revenue cycle management, HR, administration, marketing/admissions, and real estate/facilities — while partnering closely with clinical leadership to ensure the administrative organization runs efficiently and stays aligned with each practice's mission. The role reports to the ownership group and Board and plays a central role in strategic and operational planning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop functional leaders across finance, RCM, HR, admin, marketing/admissions, and real estate/facilities
Set priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the shared-services organization
Serve as the primary liaison between administrative and clinical leadership at both practices
Build trust-based relationships with physicians, therapists, and program directors
Partner with ownership and the Board on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and new locations
Own financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and growth modeling
Present operating and financial updates to leadership and the Board
Represent the organization in key external relationships (payors, vendors, community partners)
Qualifications
Healthcare operations leadership experience, ideally in behavioral health or a multi-site, clinician-led environment
Experience running a multi-functional shared-services organization (finance, HR, RCM, marketing, etc.)
Strong financial acumen — budgeting, reporting, and translating data into accountability
Experience with private equity-backed organizations (board reporting, value creation planning, investor relations)
Proven ability to lead teams through growth, scaling, or transition
Track record building collaborative relationships with clinical leaders/physicians
Excellent communication skills; comfortable leading through influence rather than authority
Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred
Based in the Bay Area, CA, with willingness to travel regularly across sites
