Expanded Functions Dental AssistantLocation: Bloomfield – Pittsburgh, PAPosition Type: Full-TimeScheduleMonday: 9:00am – 6:00pmTuesday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pmFriday: 8:00am – 1:30pmCompensationHourly Rate: $28–$38/hour, based on experienceAnnualized Compensation: Approximately $58,240–$79,040/year based on a 40-hour work weekPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our established private dental practice in the Bloomfield area of Pittsburgh, PA.This is an excellent opportunity for an EFDA who takes pride in their clinical skills, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, and is looking for a long-term professional home. Our practice has an exceptional history of employee retention, with several team members having been with the organization for more than 20 years.The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities while helping the clinical team maintain an efficient patient flow and an exceptional patient experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform expanded function dental assisting duties within the scope permitted by Pennsylvania lawPlace and finish restorative materials as permitted by EFDA certificationAssist doctors during restorative and other dental proceduresPrepare operatories, instruments, materials, and equipment for scheduled proceduresTake diagnostic dental radiographs as permittedAccurately document treatment and update patient recordsReview patient medical histories and communicate relevant information to the clinical teamProvide patients with pre- and post-operative instructionsMaintain proper sterilization, infection control, and OSHA standardsAssist with room turnover and preparation to maintain efficient patient flowHelp monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needsCollaborate with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and administrative team membersContribute to a positive, flexible, and team-oriented practice cultureQualificationsActive Pennsylvania Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) credentialDental radiology certification as required by PennsylvaniaCurrent CPR/BLS certificationPrevious dental assisting experience preferredStrong knowledge of clinical procedures and infection control protocolsExcellent communication and organizational skillsDependable, flexible, and comfortable working in a busy clinical environmentTeam-oriented mindset and willingness to support the practice wherever neededCommitment to providing an exceptional patient experienceBenefits100% employer-paid individual health insuranceCompetitive compensation based on experienceQuarterly bonus opportunitiesSemi-annual bonus opportunitiesCompany-wide annual bonus programLong-term professional growth opportunitiesSupportive private practice cultureCollaborative environment with exceptional employee retentionAbout the AreaBloomfield is one of Pittsburgh's most vibrant and convenient neighborhoods, offering easy access to downtown Pittsburgh and surrounding communities.
