Job description
The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
nThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. The candidate must be available to work the Evening/Night shift, from 7pm - 7am, with rotating weekends and holidays required.
nP10 Surgical/Oncology is a specialized inpatient unit providing care for surgical oncology patients, including those undergoing complex cancer-related procedures. Nurses on this unit deliver pre- and post-operative care, manage pain and complications, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
nHourly breakdown of salary range:
nMinimum $32.70 - Midpoint $50.00 - Maximum $67.30

n nEducation Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
nEducation Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing would be a plus.
nExperience Required: All clinical nurses with less than one-year registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. This position is not eligible for the residency program.
nExperience Preferred: Must have at least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
nLicenses/Certification Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
nLicenses/Certification Preferred: Certification in oncology or other nursing specialty. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
