Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSeeking auto mechanic. Keeps vehicles safe and reliable. Able to use computerized diagnostic tools and hand tools to find and fix problems. Will work in repair shops, or fleet garages.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics: Inspect engines, transmissions, and electrical systems using specialized computer tools.
Routine Maintenance: Change oil, rotate tires, replace filters, and check fluid levels.
Repairs: Fix or replace worn-out parts like brake pads, sensors, and spark plugs.
Testing: Test drive vehicles or use equipment to confirm repairs work properly.
Customer Communication: Explain vehicle issues and repair costs to clients or service advisors.
Record Keeping: Document all services performed and parts used
Requirements and Skills
Education: High school diploma; vocational training or an automotive technology degree is preferred.
Certifications: ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification is a strong asset.
Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy parts and stand for long periods.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of modern vehicle computer systems, engines, and mechanical parts
