Production Employee Opportunity At Butternut Mountain FarmStarting Rate $21.40Please read the full job description before applying. Prior manufacturing or production experience is required for this position.Butternut Mountain Farm is one of the largest packers of pure maple syrup in the United States. We operate a year-round food manufacturing and packaging facility in Morrisville, Vermont.We're looking for experienced production employees who want more than just a job running the same machine every day.The people who succeed here are reliable, driven, adaptable, and interested in learning. As employees develop, we expect them to share what they know, help train others, and become stronger contributors to the team.Our production environment can change throughout the day. Priorities shift, schedules change, equipment needs attention, and employees may be asked to move between jobs or work areas. You need to be comfortable multitasking, changing direction, solving problems, and continuing to work safely and accurately when the plan changes.What You'll Be DoingOperate, set up, clean, and support food production and packaging equipmentPerform production tasks safely, accurately, and efficientlyMonitor equipment, materials, product flow, and finished product qualityIdentify problems or inconsistencies and communicate them promptlyComplete basic production records and computer/data-entry tasksSupport syrup handling, barrel washing, packaging, and related production operationsMove between tasks or work areas as production priorities changeCross-train on multiple processes and pieces of equipmentLearn from experienced employees and, as your skills develop, help train and support othersParticipate in continuous improvement by identifying better, safer, or more efficient ways to perform the workWhat We're Looking ForPrevious manufacturing or production experienceDependable attendance and punctualityAbility to work safely around production machineryAbility to follow written procedures, quality requirements, and production instructionsAbility to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to changing prioritiesWillingness and ability to learn new equipment, processes, and responsibilitiesConstructive attitude and ability to work effectively with different personalitiesAbility to accept feedback, learn from mistakes, and improveWillingness to cross-train and help others learnBasic computer and data-entry skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for a 10-hour shiftAbility to safely access, operate, adjust, and clean production equipment throughout the workdayMust be at least 18 years oldWe're especially interested in people who want to grow. Employees who demonstrate strong performance, initiative, technical ability, and leadership can take on additional responsibilities and training opportunities.Schedule and FlexibilityFirst Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PMEnjoy early afternoons and three-day weekends (Friday–Sunday)Second Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AMNot currently hiring for second shift, but let us know if you're interested for future openingsAdditional NotesDepending on your role, occasional overtime or early arrivals may be required.We do our best to offer overtime on a voluntary basis, but there may be times when mandatory overtime is necessary—particularly on Fridays.Flexible workdays may occasionally be needed due to weather, building closures, or other unexpected events.Planned downtime and alternative work opportunities: During the first week of July, production shuts down.
