Experienced SawyerAre you an experienced sawyer with a background in stone cutting and large-scale equipment? We're looking for a skilled Experienced Sawyer to operate heavy-duty stone-cutting machinery and produce precise, high-quality cuts. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience safely handling large stone blocks and slabs.Job SummarySet up, calibrate, and operate large-scale stone-cutting machinery, including diamond wire saws, belt saws, and circular/bridge sawsInspect raw quarry blocks for structural integrity, natural fissures, and grain directionPlan cuts to maximize material yield and minimize wasteMake precise linear and architectural cuts according to shop drawings and specificationsMaintain tight tolerances and consistent slab thicknessMonitor blade wear, coolant/slurry flow, and diamond segment conditionAssist with blade changes and tensioning adjustmentsSafely move multi-ton blocks and slabs using overhead cranes, hydraulic block turnover systems, and pneumatic vacuum liftsPerform final dimensional checks using precision calipers and gaugesMentor junior mill hands and maintain a clean, organized, OSHA-compliant work areaExperience RequiredPrevious experience as a sawyer or operating large-scale stone-cutting equipment requiredExperience with diamond wire saws, belt saws, or circular/bridge saws preferredExperience reading shop drawings and working to precise measurementsExperience operating overhead cranes or heavy material-handling equipment is a plusSkills & QualificationsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsExcellent attention to detail and precisionAbility to read and interpret shop drawings and specificationsAbility to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and gaugesStrong understanding of equipment safety and proper operating proceduresAbility to safely work around and handle extremely heavy materialsStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to mentor and assist less-experienced team membersCommitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environmentLocation: Bloomington, INPay: $25.00/hrPosition Type: EvaluationSchedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PMWays to apply:Complete our online applicationSend your resume to us in person at 333 E Winslow Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401About Express Employment Professionals:Express can help you find the type of job that is a perfect fit for your needs and abilities, and you'll never pay a fee for our services and support.
