Welder PositionValmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for an experienced Welder position. We are looking for a highly driven individual who will weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Additionally, you will...Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structuresPerform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequenceMaintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well all welding equipment in a safe and secure mannerMay be called upon to operate other machines in the shopRequired QualificationsTwo years of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environmentThe ability to pass welding hand-on test and written assessmentThe ability to pass and maintain weld certification to meet AWS, CWB and several other customer certifications in GMAW weldingThe ability to read and decipher blueprints and flat sheets without assistance and use them to properly weld scheduled workKnowledge of visual weld quality, penetration and appearance for finished shaftsKnowledge of how to accurately read a measuring tapeHighly Qualified3+ year of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environmentTwo years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentAmerican Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized schoolMust have a high awareness for safety at all timesThe ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervisionMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family's overall wellness needs are met.
