About the Role:
The Spot Cafe LLC in Saint Augustine, FL is looking for a talented and experienced Working Kitchen Manager/Chef to lead our kitchen operations! This is a hands-on role perfect for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced café environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding food quality. Responsibilities:
Actively work the line while overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production
Plan, prepare, and execute menu items consistently to high quality standards
Manage and mentor kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance
Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage food cost controls
Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations
Collaborate with ownership on menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings
Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Sous Chef in a café or restaurant setting
Strong culinary skills with the ability to work all kitchen stations
Experience with inventory management, food costing, and ordering
Solid knowledge of food safety standards and ServSafe certification (preferred)
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing kitchen staff
Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
