Extruder / Laminator OperatorABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging providing critical applications in healthcare, personal care, and food products. Our growing company is seeking an Extruder / Laminator Operator for 2nd shift (6 PM-6 AM) Monday-Wednesday/Thursday in the Schaumburg, IL location.At ABX we offer:$1000 hiring bonus for new hiresA flexible career plan, schedule, and compensation structure that fits your lifestyle and goalsExcellent training programs and growth opportunitiesA collaborative, innovative, and inclusive cultureCompetitive salary and benefits packageFlex PayExcellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, 401k with match, quarterly bonus opportunity, and much more!ResponsibilitiesMust be able to correctly setup and operate all extrusion lines in the departmentMust be able to check and maintain product quality, width, gauge, treat, clarity, and roll appearance for all machines runningCheck operating conditions of all machines to ensure quality, production, and safe operation of equipmentAssist with, or make, screen and die changesMeet all product quality, safety and production standardsEnsure all extruders or laminators are running at maximum outputEnsure equipment is being operated safelyTrain and provide leadership to extrusion assistantsUnderstand and complete shift reports, production forms, process conditions, pounds of production and waste, etc.Follow AIB guidelinesDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor immediatelyMaintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety instructionsParticipate in ongoing CI and Focus improvement processesMust be able to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructionsPerform miscellaneous duties as required by supervisionQualifications & ExperiencePossess a working knowledge of extrusion lines or any other equipment related to the departmentMust be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide when working with set production figuresMust be able to weigh in pounds and ounces, measure in feet and inches and measure film gauge in thousandths of an inchMinimum of 2-years working on extrusion or lamination lineWorking knowledge of different polyethylene resins and different grades and how they behave under different extrusion conditionThis position has operations that require muscular coordination, proper lifting techniques and required lifting up to 35 pounds, hoist is available for use.Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and bendMust be able to use measuring tapeMust be able to use metric measurement tapeThe noise level in the working environment is usually loud (80-90 decibels)The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes and or airborne particlesHazards include but not limited to: mobile equipment, powered hand trucks, winders and edge guides, haul-off and winder nip rollers, molten resin and hot dies, high voltage equipment (treaters), and slitting blades and cut-off knivesABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
