Fabric CutterHickory Chair - Hickory, NC 28602OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift DayDescriptionThis position is responsible for reading the work orders and cutting material as instructed for upholstered furniture.Essential DutiesVerifies that fabric and pattern correspond to the work orderInspects fabric for defects and verifies the dye lotsLocates correct pattern and checks swatches for proper alignment of fabricPulls correct pattern and puts away when doneMarks out the fabric and cuts to proper size and shapeMarks and bundles all parts together and places in proper area for pick-upRecords all yardages used on ticketRequired to 4-way match fabricPlaces cut rolls in proper area for pick-upMaintains equipment and work area in an orderly mannerMust follow all safety policies and proceduresAll other duties as assignedPosition RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious marking/cutting experience a plusPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasksMust be able to work in noisy environmentsMust have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directedFrequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.
