Fabrication Operations Manager
Location: Bethlehem, PA
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Operations Manager to lead sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production, developing employees, maintaining quality and safety standards, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing , along with proven leadership experience. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the fabrication process and can effectively manage people, production schedules, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do Oversee daily sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing operations Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer and project deadlines Monitor production to ensure products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, scheduling conflicts, and manufacturing issues Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical and process challenges Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Coordinate preventive maintenance activities and recommend equipment repairs, upgrades, and purchases Establish and maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements Lead, coach, train, and develop fabrication and production employees Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of production employees Conduct safety meetings and employee training Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions Communicate production status, issues, staffing needs, and resource requirements to leadership Fabrication Environment
The operation includes a variety of manufacturing processes and equipment, including: CNC laser cutting CNC punching CNC press brakes Sheet metal fabrication Manual and robotic welding Pretreatment and phosphate conversion coating Powder coating application and curing What We're Looking For 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or a related field 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing experience 3+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications Strong leadership and employee development skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement is highly valued Strong commitment to quality, safety, and on-time production Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Why Consider This Opportunity? $80,000–$100,000 salary Full-time, direct-hire opportunity Leadership role with significant impact on manufacturing operations Opportunity to lead and develop a skilled production team Opportunity to drive process improvements and operational efficiency Bethlehem, PA location If you have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing leadership, and production operations , we'd like to hear from you.
