Fabrication TechnicianPosition Title: Fabrication Technician Department: Production Division: Sentinel Location: Albion, NE, USAAGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.ResponsibilitiesEnsure material surfaces are clean and free from foreign materials, debris, oil, slag, etc. and that the area complies with all OSHA standards.Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.Shear, bend, and weld steel pieces, using metal shears, press machines, and welding equipment.Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging to move heavy equipment and materials.Pull and push structural-steel members into positions for fabrication.Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting as needed.Shear flange pieces in straight cuts. Operate cranes, side lifts, forklifts, and electric lifts.Perform daily and periodical maintenance on equipment used in department.Change punch and dies as necessary.
