Job description
Fabrication TechnicianWe're looking for driven, mechanically minded individuals to join our team as Fabrication Technicians. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role supporting the production of our standard product lines. You'll work in a cross-functional fabrication cell performing assembly, welding, coiling, hydrotesting, engraving, and packaging—building high-quality products that our customers rely on.As you grow from Level I through Level V, you'll expand your technical capabilities, take on leadership responsibilities, and become a key contributor to continuous improvement across the department.Core Responsibilities (All Levels)Perform mechanical and welding assembly per engineering specificationsOperate and adjust fabrication equipment including saws, welders, grinders, and hydrotest stationsUse scales, templates, tape measures, and gauges for inspection and layoutMaintain accurate ERP records of parts and production progressPackage products for shipmentSafely operate forklifts, cranes, and lifting devicesFollow all PPE and safety policiesParticipate in continuous improvement and lean initiativesOperate and adjust machinery… Maintain accurate ERP records… Follow all PPE and safety policies at all times.Role LevelsFabrication Technician IPerform basic mechanical assemblies using standardized work instructionsAssist in operating saws, grinders, and basic toolsMaintain part inventories and complete basic ERP transactionsSupport housekeeping and organizationBegin learning tube straighteners and hydrotest machinesFabrication Technician IIPerform welding, assembly, and hydrotesting independentlyMaintain accurate part and work-order recordsIdentify defective parts and perform in-process testingSupport packaging and material handlingFabrication Technician IIIPerform high-volume TIG weldsBecome proficient with robotic welding systems and hydro rigsAssist in training new team membersMaintain crane operation certificationsLearn complex product buildsFabrication Technician IVIndependently operate all cell equipment and adjust programmingTroubleshoot quality issues and validate part accuracySupport inventory management and process flow improvementsMentor lower-level technicians and help lead daily job sequencingFabrication Technician VDemonstrate full proficiency across all matrix categoriesProgram and operate advanced machinery including robotic systems and orbital weldingLead team training and validate skill certificationsRepresent the cell in planning and improvement initiativesSupport leadership in safety audits and process changesWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalentAt least 1 year of manufacturing experience with mechanical assembly, welding, or machine operationStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawingsBasic TIG welding proficiencyAbility to bend, reach, squat, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a shop environmentGood spatial orientation, hand-eye coordination, and eyesightFamiliarity with the safe operation of robotic systems.Positive attitude, ownership mentality, and strong teamwork skillsWhy Sentry100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) – you share in the success you help createSupportive environment for learning and early-career developmentCompetitive pay, benefits, and long-term growth opportunitiesYou'll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
