Job description
Fabricator "B"The Fabricator "B" is responsible for laying out, cutting, fitting, and measuring metals to create various HVAC equipment. Fabricator "B" must be able to perform his responsibilities effectively with moderate supervision. The Fabricator efforts actively support our mission of ensuring reliable, durable and safe operations for our customers by furnishing the highest quality industrial HVAC systems.Key Responsibilities:Use work plans and specifications to determine the type and quantity of materials neededAssembles units to shop drawing specificationsMake the required calculations and use measuring tapes and ruler to lay out the workMeasure and Mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheetsDrill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivetsInstall metal sheets with supportive frameworksFabricate or alter partsFasten seams by bolting, riveting, or solderingCompletes assigned tasks within the allotted hours with minimum to no reworkMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsOperates forklift to transport supplies and equipmentBe knowledgeable of departments equipment and its intended useAnd all other duties as assignedSkills/Knowledge Required:One (1) year minimum of manufacturing experience or related experienceHigh School Diploma or GED preferredAbility to read measuring tapeAbility to use variety of tools and equipment (e.g. saws, shears, and presses)Ability to read blueprints – preferredMust be able to operate forkliftStrong communications skills in order to maintain effective working relationshipsRequires forward thinking, logical planning and ability to work productively in team environmentWorking Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal Protective Equipment needed for this position is safety glasses, face shields, gloves, and steel-toed work boots.Physical Requirements:Able to meet all of the below physical requires with or without reasonable accommodation:Able to lift up to 20 pounds of force routinely.
