Brazer PositionOur Components Division, located in Gorham, Maine is looking for an experienced Brazer. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 or more years of experience, but can train the right candidate.Microwave Techniques is a global leader in high-power microwave components, industrial microwave systems, and RF solutions. Microwave Techniques legacy dates back to the inception of microwave technology.Microwave Techniques LLC is a subsidiary of The Elmet Group, a publicly traded company.Key Responsibilities:Uses heat, torches, furnaces, alloys, solder, flux and a variety of techniques to join or bond workpiecesBrazes metal parts to assemble products as specified by blueprints and work ticketsSets up work pieces, using fixtures, jigs, clamps, squares and vises based on the needs of the productAbility to read complex drawings, blueprints and work ticketsApply hand torches, hand tools, measuring instruments and shop math to produce mechanically oriented productsWorkpiece joint cleaning techniques including manual tools and dipped cleaning solutionsSelection of torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy from data charts appropriate for the work orderInspection of product quality, and correction of defective joints and seams as requiredCross-department communication to ensure the product is engineered, manufactured, tested, and shipped in accordance with the order specifications and contractual requirementsRequirements:A minimum of 2 years' previous experience but will train the right candidateExperience with brazing and/or welding techniques and materials preferredKnowledgeable of metalworking safety protocolsKnowledge of different kinds of metal and their propertiesDetail oriented with strong communication skillsAbility to work independently in a team settingAptitude of technical and functional terms, techniques, and processesHigh attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality componentsTakes initiative, proactive, positive, and willing to learnEmploys safe practices in all applicationsWhat can you expect from us?A comprehensive employee benefits package effective day one, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life, supplement life-, short- and long-term disability insurance, AD&D critical illness and accident insurance401K plan with an employer matchDiscretionary bonusesPaid time off (PTO)Paid holidaysTuition reimbursement opportunitiesTraining opportunitiesEmployee purchase programEmployee assistance programSafety shoe purchase programThis is a full-time position in Gorham, Maine, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30pmConsistent with the provisions of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and the Maine Human Rights Act, applicants may request accommodations needed to participate in the application process.Equal Opportunity Employer.
